Mixed Media cards with Rebecca Baer-April inspiration post

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my inspirational post made for Rebecca Baer blog and using her gorgeous stencils.

 This post is all about cards.

Mixed media card are very trendy those days and with Rebecca's  stencil it's very easy to make a whole lot of cards for any occasion.

 My first card is very easy to make and all you need is one great RB stencil , one good big stamp sentiment and some shiny paint.

This first card was made with RB Jamboree medium stencil using gel medium as a medium under the stencil. First I stamped the sentiment with pigmented ink and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. I used My Favorite Things sentiment set as those sentiments are big and visible.Then I added the texture with stencil and gel medium and as this stencil has an oval gap in the middle , I just added medium around the gap and not inside it. I added mists from Tattered Angels (three colors, not more, unless you want to get a brown mess) and also dried each mist layer between the misting to avoid the mess. The stamped and stencilled panel was arranged over another layer and then arranged into Kraft base card. The natural twine was glued with the same gel medium to stay on its place as shown.

The second card is pretty much alike, but made with different mediums.I used  Harlequin Damask  stencil with texture paste and then painted it with Earth Safe Finishes Iridescent paint and wiped the paint from the stencilled parts to get this mute and light color over the paste.

Then I stamped another bold and big sentiment over the card with the same heat embossing and added a couple of heat embossed die cuts and more twine.

The last card is a bit different and made with more layers, but still with the stencil as a main part of it. The stencil used is Enchanted Vine one- small stencil that fits the small card panel  in the best possible way.

On this stencilled piece I used two colors mist and as you can see the  teal colored the pasted part of stencil and the copper stayed over the debossed part on the paper. The result is amazing!

Love card with Makin's Clay

 Also the month of Love (February ) is already gone, I still have a few Love/Valentine cards done and this card is one of them.
This is a kind of Mixed Media without mediums card.
I made dry embossing, stamping with heat embossing and then made this fancy 4 layers heart with Makin's Clay and dies.
The red Makin's Clay was rolled  into #4 setting over the clay machine and when it was dry I made 4 die cuts using old Cuttlebug dies. Then I arranged the heart in 4 layers and covered with glaze.
So if clay and glaze are mediums, this should be called MM card. But them this is a totally clean and simple design. OK, I was a bit out of the box with this card, but I really love it.
The small Love stamp is from Inspired by Stamping.

I enter this card to a few web challenges:

 Simon Says- Feeling touchy- the touch of dry embossing and the glazed touch of clay heart- so different on one card.

TPD card last for December

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my 52 ND POST made for Two Paper Divas blog.
Yes, it's a full year design for this lovely stamp company and yes, I stay for the second one!
So here is my new card and it's JUST FOR YOU all!
I made it with a new Backgrounds stamp set, using 2 of all 4 stamps. All stamping was made over metal copper cardstock with clear embossing ink and 3 colors of metal embossing powders.
I used an old (love it !) die to make this puzzle and arranged it over the metal cardstock with 3d foam glue.
Then I added this small sentiment using TPD  new Truffle Treats set over black cardstock with gold embossing powder.
It's a very trendy card (metals are trendy) and it is perfect for any occasion.

Ann Butler December post: Precious faux metals card

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my post made for ANN BUTLER's blog using a lot of her products.

This time I made a card, but this is a card with a lot of techniques used: I stamped, heat embossed and die cut a lot to make this  Hello card and  I just used one single metal embellishment- the Hello word  as non paper- stamping- die cutting thing here.

So here is a small tutorial for you I made with full step by step photos:

1. Pick a  few of Ann Butler's Faux Quilting (Unity) stamps 2'' size and stamp them all, randomly, over a sheet of metal copper paper. Use VersaMark as your stamping ink and heat emboss each single square with a different metal embossing powder. I used copper, gold and silver powders, but you can add brass, bright gold, sparkling silver etc to get even more metallic shades.

2.Find a Puzzle die that is around card size (I used the very old Cuttlebug die, but there are a lot of similar dies around; you can also use your electronic die cutting device if you have one for this really basic shape.

3. Arrange the die cut pieces over a sheet of white metal cardstock  with 3d foam glue- each piece of the puzzle is a bit trimmed to be not so flat and to be " seen". 

4. As the next stop make another small stamped piece and die cut a label from this piece. Die cut a larger label from the white cardstock too.

5. Arrange both labels over the card as shown.

Add the metal Hello word and your fancy card is done.

As you can see you can so a mini album cover in the very same way; you can also use silver or gold cardstock as the base of your stamping and the result will be totally different.

For you Mixed Media card with Two Paper Divas

 Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second post made for Two Paper Divas with a new lovely stamp set called It's your day.        

I made a kind of a Mixed Media " over embossed" card with some of my favorite techniques.
The outer frame is  a dry embossed foil and then heat embossed over the dry embossing with silver embossing powder.
The inner frame was made in my favorite " faux cloisonne" technique with a lot of embossing powder in layers and some texture plate over the hot powder base.
The image was stamped with black permanent ink, colored over with a mix of Gelatos and then heat embossed over all with clear embossing powder. To make it more interesting I added some glitter glue and black enamel over the glossy image.

This is my new  post made for my new DT for Two Paper Divas stamp company.
This is new USA based stamp company with gorgeous delicate acrylic stamps and a lot of digital images too.
So here is my lovely new card  and I used two gorgeous stamp  sets from TRD to make this card.

 A bit about this card:
I made dry embossed background and added black chalkboard paint over the distressed areas. Then I distressed it again to get this vintage look of the background.
The frame was hand cut and then painted with crackled paint and inked over the dry paint.
I stamped flowers using Seed Packet Flowers one single stamp to make this chalkboard effect: stamp with white ink and then heat emboss with white powder. The sentiment stamp was stamped with the same technique.
Some pearls were added for the interest and some blue ink splashes for the splash of color.

Gift bags with love

Hello my dear crafty friends!
This is my first post made for my new DT for Two Paper Divas stamp company.
This is new USA based stamp company with gorgeous delicate acrylic stamps and a lot of digital images too.
So here is my first project and I used a few stamp sets for this set of brown gift bags.

A bit about how those packages were made:
The bag was dry embossed with a folder and then inked with a bit of distress ink. Then I added some washi tape strips and some 7 Gypsies strips. The scalloped matting was die cut with Spellbinders die and then inked and distressed around. The Large Seed Packet stamp was stamped with black ink and hand cut to be the base for Seed Packet Flowers. I used two of 4 flowers from this stamp set. Each one was heat embossed with clear powder and then colored with distress markers. Then I stamped them again and made 3d flower arrangement.
I added some twin and a wood inked heart to finish those packages that are great for a small gift or a gift card to put inside.

 

I stamped Banner #2 sentiments over each package, but those are great general sentiment that fit each occasion.

Triple technical tutorial with Inpspired by Stamping

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Today I am going to show you a  tutorial with not one, not two, but  three techniques and  believe me, it would not be a long project to make after all.
So here we go- my TRIPLE TECHNICAL TUTORIAL made for IBS stamp company I begin to design for my third year.
1.Dry emboss a piece of thin metal sheet with your favorite embossing folder (I used Cuttelbug art deco frame).

2. Cover the outer part with Clear embossing ink and add some black embossing powder(I used one with some silver glitter inside)

Unfortunately I didn't  take a photo of a finished frame only, but you will see the lovely embossed effect over the finished piece. Or just scroll down to see it now...

3. Now let's make the inner frame with Faux Cloisonne technique. First make your own chipboard frame or find a frame that fits the inside part of your outer embossed piece. I made mine in seconds, so you can do it too. Now grab your Clear embossing ink and black Ultra thick embossing powder (UTEE or any other company)

Cover the chipboard with a thick ink layer, add powder and heat emboss it. Make it all around and with several layers until you get this result.

4. Now grab some Pearl Ex powders  (you can use Perfect pearls too or any other kind of pearl pigments you own). Cover the COLD frame with a mix of not more then 3 colors.

5. Now the fun begins.You  need to work over small parts of your frame and to be fairly fast!
Heat  one frame side and stamp your border stamp into a hot border.Let it cool and repeat this step all over the frame. The good thing is that if you made a mistake or don't like the stamped borders, you can reheat the frame and to make it over.

6. Now for the inner part. Stamp your sentiment over the white thick cardstock with permanent ink only! Mist over the stamped sentiment with a similar to your frame color and let it dry.

Cover your dry misted inner card with a thick layer of clear embossing powder and heat emboss it over the sentiment.
Arrange your entire project and enjoy it!

Lifetime adventure with new Sweet Stamps

Hello my dear crafty friends! Today I am going to share my new card made with one of the most gorgeous ATC size stamps; new Sweet Stamps release that is already in the shop.

I used this Bird stamp over the cream cardstock, stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with black EP. Then I made a  punched circle template, added it over the stamped image and colored with 3 primary Staze-On colors to make this rainbow circle. All stamped and colored image was misted with golden mist. The card base was made with CLD Cardmaker dies (the biggest one). Then I die cut the biggest size of CLD Scalloped CardMaker die and dry embossed it . The  front panel was matted over the 3 rd in the row scalloped die cut. All panels were  heat embossed with Gold powder around. I added Tim Holtz stickers sentiment , tied a bow and added an old multicolor button. This is my Golden Paris lifetime adventure.

Inspired by Stamping January 3 rd Inspiration challenge

Hello. my dear crafty friends! This is my take for  Inspired by Stamping this weeks inspiration challenge. The colors are really lovely and you should try this challenge as we have  a great prize for a winner every week.

I used American Crafts cardstock, the top panel was dry embossed with an old Cuttelbug folder. Then I die cut a frame with Spellbinders frames set and another oval with Ovals set and stamped IBS sentiment over it.
Kaisercrafts sticker with birdies was just a perfect fit for the colors and as my last touch I added this dotted ribbon and Handmade Halo wooden button.
