Let's go tutorial with Papericious: SOS Flight box

Hello my dear crafty friends! This is Irit from Irit Shalom Designs here today and I am going to share my May tutorial made with Let's go pack. Actually I needed to highlight the new Papericious flowers in this post, but as this collection is so much " out of the flower zone" I decided to skip this part of a tutorial and to make something that each and every one can use-  Flight survivor First aid box.
This is not a real First aid box and you wouldn't see much medical things inside (you sure can add some analgesic or sleeping pills there). This is a box that everyone who  flies needs badly and I made it for my  oldest son's family who had a very long connection flight from Israel to L-A.
The first good thing in this project is that you really need it.
The second good thing is that you can recycle an old box and to make the Earth a bit more green.
And all you need is Papericious most gorgeous new collection " Let's go" and a bit of imagination.
So here are a few close- ups for the finished project and the full step by step tutorial will come after the introduction.

And this is what I added inside the box:

Nautic shadow box

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my first May Art Anthology project.
I am a big fan of cheap $ store products that can be altered and embellished.
So with Art Anthology great paints, colorations and stencils I made this Nautical shadow box and as you can see it looks fabulous!

I decided not to cover the inside of the shadow part with paint and the white space makes the inside stencilled piece to shine.
Here are some close - ups to this piece:

You can see the full step by step tutorial here on a Snapguide:
Check out How to Make Nautical Shdow Box by Art Anthology on Snapguide.
All products are listed in the Snapguide and I made a full Art Anthology products list here in this post too:
Hope you like my project and see you soon again with a totally different Mixed Media creation.
It also was made for some web challenges:

Smile layout with Scrapmatts

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Scrapmatts May inspiration!
My firsty project, almost as always, is a scrapbooking classic layout.
I used DCVW cardstock from the pretty monochromatic collection and add a lot of chipboards to add more interest to the flat colors of the layout.
As almost always- my dear 3 years old grand daughter Neta is a star of my scrapbooking.

So as you see I made the modern title with Scrapmatts chipboards painted into black.

The main embellishment cluster was made with background chipboards painted with  gold paint and some hand made paper flowers.
I added a bird bath and two chipboard birds to this cluster too.

And the half circles were  added under the twine " banner" to make the white space less " white".

 Scrapmatts products used:
Birdbaths 03 CB1203
Leaf spray 15 CB516
Assorted words 28 CB6115
Arrows 01 CB5107
String circles 07 CB4071

Sin City bookmark

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my book mark tutorial made for Sin City stamps blog.
This is one of my first attempts with Misti and my very first attempt with water color markers and I made it in my own and different stamping way as you can see in my small tutorial.

Product list:
Sin City stamps - Natural Beauty stamp set

Other products:

Misti Stamping tool
Water color paper
Spectrum Noir markers
Black archival ink
Black cardstock
Twine and bead

Step by step tutorial:
1. Arrange the water color paper and the stamp in the Misti tool. Cover the stamp with pink and green water color using markers. Wipe the paper with baby wipe and stamp over it.
As you can see it's just the color base and not the fine stamping seen on the paper.

2. Leave the cardstock and the stamp in the same place. Ink the stamp with black ink and stamp over the water color image.

3. Stamp the leaves with another Sin City stamp in the same way: first the marker color over wiped cardstock and then the black fine image over it.

4. Add more leaves images over the cardstock piece. Make some without the baby wipe to get another stamped look of the same stamp.
Make masks by stamping with ink on  thin paper and cover the stamped images with these masks.
Now  stamp over the images with the same two steps technique.
P.S. The left piece is just the left over to cover the Misti tool and not to be used as a part of a project.

5. Cut the stamped piece to a book mark size. Add the black cardstock matting. Make a hole and tie the bead over the twine.

Colors of life layout with Scrapberry's

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second Scrapberry's post for May.
As usual one of my projects is a layout and this layout was made with gorgeous photos I took last Fall while travelling  in Macedonia and Albania.
The photos are from the lovely park in not so much known Albania.
So I used Mediterranean Dreams collection also both countries are not really Mediterranean ones, but just close.

I mostly used patterned cardstock to make this layout.
Lots of dies were grabbed to add some interest to my page.
One larger flowers cluster was added on the right corner of the lower photo over the cardstock title that says " Colors of life".
Yes, they sure have colors in Albania. Not sure how much of life they have in this poor, still very much communist small country of Eastern Europe.

Here is the cluster made with a tree die cut, some paper and some resin flowers.

And I sure added a hand written journalling:
Albania 2016.
Looks like Paradise.
Feels like 50 years ago.
And as I was born in a former communist country I know how it was looking .

I hope that you like my layout and my use of Scrapberry's new collection.

Prickley Pear Lace card

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Prickley Pear Rubber stamps inspiration.
This card was made for lace theme and I used Papericious cardstock that was actually laced and added wedding Prickley pear images.
The stamped images were heat embossed with clear embossing powders and  hand cut. The sentiment was stamped with smaller same swans image in the same way.
I used stamps from Heart Key Crown clear stamps set for sentiment spot and Love Swans red rubber stamp for the main image.
Lace bow was added on the left with some paper flowers over it.

Mermaids Party with Down by the Sea BoBunny release

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here today and I am going to celebrate Summer with my Mermaid Party projects.

I am not a real " themed parties person". Usually our party is all about food and drinks and some simple decorations.
But when I have a mood and  great paper supplies I am more than happy to make a whole line of party decorations. And with BoBunny new Down by  the Sea collection this was amazing fun to make such
As you can see I made the main banner (close- up shown later in this post).
I added a few napkin rings (just the sample; you need to make much more for the real party). I also made the samples of lovely place cards and two large toppers that can be used for the cake or for the flowers central piece or  just for any purpose .

The toppers were made with the circle hand cut base and Mandala die cut. Then  the chipboard hand cut flag was added and covered with another patterned cardstock from this delicious collection. The flag was added to Mandala with BoBunny Aqua brads.
One of the toppers was finished with a layered chipboard and second with cardstock cut.

The napkin rings were die cut with new Darling Doily die from the patterned Down by the Sea cardstock and this cardstock is just perfect as you can cut 9 different Mermaids from one single cardstock sheet and to make 9 napkin rings.  I added the die cut doilies over the circle die cut from Mystical cardstock.

The place cards were made from a solid piece of Plunge cardstock with Sweetheart die cut and then the die cut piece was glued over the negative space with some gap as shown.
I added a piece of chipboard strip over each card and then one of the Fancy tags die cuts was added as the place for the name.

And now for some close- ups of the banner.
I hand cut the huge flags and added the second and the third flag layers over the basic layer.
The edges were glittered with the new Seafoam Glitter paste and the second layer edges were painted with new Pentart Delicate Dark gold acrylic paint.
Some texture was added on this flag with new Summer Days stencil (waves) and Ice Flower Pentart stencil paste.
Then some chipboards and Noteworthy die cuts were added over the piece.

The second  flag was made in the same way around the edges. I added some Turquoise Glitter paste with  my favorite BoBunny dotted stencil and then added the large chipboard frame and saying,

The third and central flag was made as a shaker piece  and you can see the inside sequins and beads under the transparency. Some Ice Flower paste dots were added on the external flag.

The next piece was stencilled in the same way with Seafoam Glitter paste and chipboard piece were added to embellish this part of my banner.

The last piece was made in the same way as the first one using Flower Fun stencil to add the dimension.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sketch challenge

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our CAS- ual stamps Sketch challenge.

No automatic alt text available.
This pretty sketch is just a starting point. You can do whatever you wish with it and as you can see you don't need to use hearts. For example I made it with punched circles.
To make this card I used Modern Petals stamp set. I stamped the largest border and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then 8 circles were punched and layered over the bigger punched black cardstock  circles.
One last circle got this #1 sticker and I made the sentiment using RAD 2 stamp set. This set is  the perfect set  for so many different sentiment you can build while making your cards or other projects.

And now some close- ups for you to see:

There are no genre restrictions for this challenge. Link up your clean and simple designs or layer it on -- the choice is yours.  Make sure to link back to this blog post and include the graphic below in your post for consideration of being chosen a winner.
