Inspired by Stamping Birthday blog hop

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my blog today!

Surprise!  I'm here today, along with other gals on the Inspired By Stamping design team, to wish the Inspired By Stamping store'sowner, Joanna, a happy 3rd anniversary for the store and an early happy birthday!  You should have arrived here from Grace Tolman's  blog.  If not, and you'd like to join in the fun, please start at Joanna's blog and hop along with us to wish her many happy returns!  We've all made birthday creations to share using Inspired By Stamping products.  Come and take a peek at mine!

And now for my story:
3 years ago, on October 2011, I found a Design Team call for Inspired by Stamping stamps company.
I wasn't much of a stamper those days, but I tried each and every possible call as I was very new to crafting, designing or being on any team, but challenge blogs only.
I made this team and this was my very first stamping company design spot. Three  years later, with like 10 stamp companies more in my resume, I am still on this team!
And I hope it will be forever. Just two of us left from the original list: Kendra Sand and I, but  this team feels like Home, and this is a place you want to stay forever and ever.
So this month Inspired by Stamping is 3 years old.
In a few more days our dear owner, Joanna, will celebrate her birthday.
Happy Birthday to you both: the girl who had a dream and the company that is this " Dream did come true".
I want to thank Joanna for the chance she gave me then and for the opportunity to be creative with her gorgeous stamps, papers, dies and files. This is a place to create whatever I want, in any style and to be true to my artistic way with  all IBS  products and to show the world that any stamp can be used by any crafter if you just have a bit of imagination.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO INSPIRED BY STAMPING AND TO OUR DEAR JOANNA!

Shabby style-my new addiction

Hello my dear crafty friends!
This is Irit here today with my new style, fancy, shabby card.
Lately I try to make my cards more layered and more shabby. Maybe this is just a temporary state of mind, but maybe I just move to some other  direction with my card making. Anyway, this is what I  made for this post:  multi layered card with a lot of paper and 4 different die used with totally different techniques.

The background Blocks  die was  covered with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with  olive green embossing powder.(Also with all those layers you can see it only here and there).

I added two pieces of  Lacy Dots just inked around in the middle of the card.

The Butterfly Flourish dies was cut from a very thick cardstock. Then I colored it with distress markers  and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It gives the die this distressed, but yet shiny effect.
The sentiment was die cut from Complements Everyday  die and painted with the same markers, but then I covered it with a layer of Glossy Accents and connected to the card with a thin line of the glaze.

I hope that you do like my shabby card. See you  soon!

You can check out all of the dies HERE. And we would love to see your projects featuring Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE.
I enter this card to sktech challenge for MSD BLOG

Layering with dies: such a fun experience

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Today I am going to share a fun, maybe even masculine card, made with a lots of layers and I mean A LOT!
I counted like 10 layers here, and still this card is not very bulky (thanks to not adding flowers... LOL)
I used Marion Smith papers only and some cardstock for my die cuts.

5 Die Versions dies were used on this  card:
Funky Octagons background
Let's celebrate today Sweet Spot
Torn edge spiral Whispers border die
Love Sweet frame
Heart Burst Whispers die
All dies were die cut from   thick cardstock and inked with distress inks. The sentiment die was also heat embossed with black embossing powder.
I added a single metal pin with a butterfly , some glitter clear glue and two small pieces of washi tape (just to connect the layers in the more secure way)
I made for my weekly blog post in Die- Versions blog, but using MSD challenge colors and sketch and I enter this card to this challenge.

WOW TIME

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this is our All about time month. A lot of things come  to our mind  while  we think about time. It can be  just " I am so late" or " times passed so fast" things; but then it can be anything about a moment in time, good or bad, or just things that happened during some time period.
So after a lot of self " brain storming" I decided to make this altered journal for my memories of year 2014. The year is still " in process", so I just made a cover and then I am going to add some journal pages, Mixed Media or regular scrappy style, not sure about it. But I was pretty much sure about my love to WOW! PRODUCTS and used them a lot over this fancy shabby/Vintage cover.

The basic paper products are from Marion Smith line, but then I used tons of embossing powders to change my embellishments to textures and colors that I like.
The whole cover was embossed with Olive Green powder.
The resin white Prima bird was embossed with Primary Chartreuse color.
The metal bird and clock charm was embossed with Metallic Brass and so was the stick pin on the top of the cover and the centre of molded upper flower. The flower outer sides were embossed with Primary Apple Red.
The big bottom flower was made with WOW! mold and as I didn't like the color I got, I embossed it over with the same Primary Apple Red. This flower metal base was also embossed with Gold powder and  bit of Olive Green around.(hard to see, but it's there).

As you can see WOW! POWDERS are perfect for any surface: paper, plastic, metal and then (not on this project) fabric, foil, transparency and.... You name it- I emboss it. And the results are gorgeous!

See you next month with more WOW! inspiration.

Book cover with Ann Butler's Faux Quilt stamps

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new monthly post made for Ann Butler's blog too.
This time I am going to show you a bit of technique I used to make this altered book cover for my new art/memory journal.
The chipboard parts are Tando Creative kit- easy to use and to made your own  altered book.
And this is a technique I used here: combo of stamping, heat embossing and painting , all in one.
Step 1: Stamp a pattern (all patterns used here are from Ann Butler's Faux Quilting Unity sets and you can see the names and the store links later) over metallic  cardstock. (It works over real metal sheets too, but I was short of those).

Step 2: Heat emboss your stamped patterns with Clear embossing powder

Step 3: Paint the embossed cardstock with a mix of gold, copper and black acrylic paints. As you can see I use the cheap, craft store paints and not those fancy acid free paints for this cover. Wipe the paint until you have a thin layer  of it left over the stamped image and you like the color. If not- add more of the  paint you want to be seen .

Step 4 and the last: Those 4 squares here  were made just as a sample (will be used later for the cover corner embellishment cluster), so go on and make dozens of those squares with 2'' stamps and let them dry.
Cover the chipboard with a nice vintage looked paper; not much is seen after all.
Now cut those pieces to uneven rectangles and squares and made your cover  as shown here. Add gold foil tape in between the pieces and be sure to glue it to your cardstock pieces as this " self- adhesive" tapes are really " non- adhesive" ones. Paint the chipboard wavy pieces with copper paint, add a bit of copper embossing powder and a splash of black paint and embossing. Add the title.

And now  I am going to show you my embellishment cluster. I made a punched circle form the 4 pieces square made as a tutorial as my subtitle base. Then I die cut the title with Die-Versions die form copper cardstock and heat embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder. I die cut the heart medallion from the same copper cardstock and inked it a bit with black ink around. All 3 circles were arranged to one central title piece and glued over the die cut flowers branch that was heat embossed with copper glitter embossing powder and copper pearls.

I hope you like my small tutorial and my finished project and would try to make something similar with those gorgeous Ann Butler's Faux Quilting stamps.

Sweet Stamps monthly challenge: Painters tapes

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our new monthly Sweet Stamps challenge.
This month we challenge you to  use painters tapes over your crafts. Any  tape, any technique- just be creative and you can win some gorgeous SS goodies!
And here is my card. I used tapes as masks and left the white space for some sentiment stamping. A lot of sentiment stamping. First adhere the tapes over your card; then mist or watercolor the background and then peel your tapes and stamp the sentiment over the white spaces left.

I also stamped some Queen Ann's Wildflowers with black ink over the colored surface.

And now it's your turn: play with us and WIN!

Let's get lost in Wonderland (my way of thinking about it)

This is the first project made for a long time that was not made for any  design team, submission or other " heavy duty". I made this Tando printers tray with a cover just because I had those Marion Smith papers, Tando and Wycinanka chipboard and a lot of VLVS stamps on my  table. Everything else was just a thought about matching them all into one project with a name. So welcome my " Let's get lost in Wonderland" art piece and I hope you like it.
This is the cover here: paper covered chipboard book shaped bare piece with Tando mask, texture paste and embossing powders heat embossed over.

Then I heat embossed the funky frame and added another piece of paper inside. The more items I added- ore embossing was done. I heat embossed the resin rose, the thin chipboard crown, the metal clock (was silver) and added a few trinkets (pin, pebble and gold flourish). The small Alice was stamped over the patterned paper and glued over this embellishment cluster. " Let's get lost" is a stamp too. I got my whole inspiration from an old Hebrew song that has a falk dance made of with a line " Be  Like Alice in Wonderland" .

And now for the inside part that is actually the back cover and the inside chipboard tray.

The back cover just has a few cut outs from the paper and a mirror over it. The tray was made with a lot of small items that fit the theme: stamped Alice again; vintage cameo made with resin frame, paper cut and glossy accents; some more resin self made shapes; stamped clock over newsprint stamped background; metal cute tea cup;  ink and clear  powder heat embossed circle chipboard shape and another stamped circle over it. I added some stamping over the back cover and inside the tray , all connected to my unknown Wonderland that need to be explored. And for those who need  things to be clear: you can be lost in a chat with friends, having a cup of your favorite coffee; you can be lost on love (heart), or in cards game; you can be lost in your past (vintage broch) or in time (clock).

Sweet Stamps Monthy challenge

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our Sweet Stamps monthly technical challenge.
This month we challenge you to make cards with folds. Any folds, any kind of a card, as far as it has more then one fold.
Mu card here is " no template" one: I just played with 3 folds and cut the corners and that's what I have finally. I used vintage papers over Kraft cardstock and added a stamped French script, the sentiment and a die cut from CLD that you can find in our SS store.
I really like this fold  and even added the wooden  clips closure to this kind of a card.

Now it's your turn! Play with us and you can win some lovely goodies !
