I also added some MS border punching, ribbon pleating and a bit of inking.. So thanks to Polly I have much more pinky items to use again and again..

I scrap therefore they remember
This page will be published in Scrapbook. com magazine October 2011 issue
This page was a kind of statement. Lots of people in Israel are not familiar wih a scrapbooking..
Yes, they love these digital wedding and Bar Mitzva albums- cream or balck pages with thousands of photos on every page and some photoshop tricks too, but scrapbooking as we understand it?
Titles, journalimg? No way!! And spending a fortune for what? For this fancy page nobody really look at for more than a second and even than- just at photo? And my family is not an exeption.. They just think mom is a bit crazy spending so much time and money doing this one single page- cute one, so what?Who needs it anyway? We are pretty glad with our Facebook page with 2000 of our " best" picks...
So this page is for them- my dear not understanding family- I scrap because I am your memory keeper, I scrap for you to remember and maybe 50 years from now my grand- grand children could read my thoughts and even to see my handwriting (I am prety sure nobody is going to handwrite in 50 years from now.. )
And this page was another kind of statement too: Irit can do a simple paperblocking page..
With a twist... As Irit can't do a simple page after all..
And so I did a huge letter I- for " me" in a title and for Irit as an artist adn this one took me 3 hours to do- all the page was an hour and a half mostly and it was so long as I don't use a trimmer, but a knife..
So here it is:
product on the page: Jullibean pp, Ac pp, J, Bowlin pp, ATD and Canson cardstock, Pink Paslee, MLS and MM lettering, distress inking, Maya road kraft envelope,Pressed petals metal piece,Webster page lace,Provo stamps, pens
And for the letter I:
Autumn leaves and Prima stamps, Prima fabric tag, crystals and flowers, MM brads, Heidi Swapp alphas, distress inks- 4-5 of them,TH acrylic fragment, some digi prints, Ek sticker, 3d glue, and from my vntag box- fabric titles from the outit tag, thread, tiny buttons, beaded semipretious stones.
And as for the challenges:
All about me ask for about me celebrate positive page- and think it's more than positive and I do celebrate my scrap addiction

ART? CURIO BOX - my style
This frame made Top 3 on Craft your days away Wings challenge- thanks!!
This frame won a Hut challenge on Raise a bar- thanks!!
This frame won the Home sweet home Scrap that poetry challenge- thanks!!
OK- this is my style curio box.. I know- the name and the concept is from dear Tim- but this time I only used a concept and 3 metal pieces from his line and some stickles- no more.. And my motto this time was " use as much as you can form your TTT box"
TTT is for Trash to treasure box I have with all this bits an pieces left, recycled, unused- actually I have several of these boxes as I keep everything..Whi knows what you need and when..
I don't.
So this one is close no cost display- the wood shape was 1$ shop here in Israel, I think it's more 1.4$ in our money, but we call it a1 $ shop as once USD was much more and they just left the price like it was 3-4 years ago..
So I did acrylic painting with candle technique( dark acrylic- candle- light acrylic- sanding)
Added some paper pieces, printed some quotes on transparency, stamped a butterfly on another one, made some homemade glass pebbles, cut a frame, made some ribbon pleating and collaged these 3d pieces all around. The domino, playing cards, bottles, jewelry pieces- all of them in this collage and the question is as the title: is it art? Not sure.. Craft? Not sure as it is useless and craft is something we can use.
Is it cool? Yes, I think it is.. And this is another piece for my bare crat room walls.

Pink dream girl lo
This page was published in Oct/Nov 2010 issue of SNR magazineThis page was honorably featured in Prima blog August BAP contest- thanks
This page mad TOP 3 on Beary sweet challenge- thanks
This page is pretty much " all Prima " lo- but not really as I used for the very first time in my life this sticky back canvas and believe me- it's the best ever thing you can imagine!!
First of all- it's great for misting: I did it with pink and blue homemade mists over this craft web- this plactic cheap thing you buy in Joann's for cents- I thing it's for some kind of cross stitching with some wool or something like that. Then I inked it all around with chalk ink and than I stamped all over- easy and great- better that a cardstock.
I added 2 thing that are not Prima- inked Bazzill white die cut and painted with white pearl acrylic huge swirl . From here on - it's Prima: hand cut paper, journaling spot, chipboard journaling spot, alphas (distressed by me), flowers (glittered by me), some package recycling, pearl swirls and pebbles. I alos did some piercing , but not stitching around the photo of my beloved American niece Tamar as a gift for her birthday- part of a gift anyway
And even me- the " add more and more embellishments" scrapper had to stop here- as this white space is the best part of the lo- together with this gorgeous photo.

Art journal- Wendi Vecchi style
This journal won a Curtain call color challenge- thanks!!
When I first seen this new Simon says stamps and show challenge I thought " who in the Earth is this Wendi Vecchi?" Sorry to say- never heard about her and I don't own her stamps (maybe for the New year present- it's here in 3 weeks and DH- do you hear me? NO, he doesn't, he doesn't read my blog and he is so out of art person.. )I'l buy them myself.. I need to say that from this moment on Iam her real admirer
But as a real challenge frick I decided I can do her style with whatever products I have - ever if these are mostly Tim's babies. So I grabbed these distress inks, Wendy style colors and did this art journal cover that probably will move me to compete one entire journal I never did...
And as it's an art piece- no patterned paper used here, but pure background techniques of stamping white on white, heat embossing, resist inking, stamping all over with some brown inks and then decorating it with this perfectly fitted here Tando creative corner chipboard as a starting point.
I tried new for me panting technique- first I added some clear crackle paint- but only here and there, not all over it. When it was dry I added some distrress Forest moss ink and the crackled places used as a resist and stayed uninked, but then I added another clear crackle layer- and lucky me- it brought some light green paint over the resist places- the result looks great and a bit new..I am sure this techniques was done anywhere on the web- but I as for me- it's mine new technique I invented and I am going to do a small tutorial about it later.
I inked 2 7 Gipsies pieces, used distress glitter stickles for Tim's grungeboard letters, added some wood and metal alphas, some metal pieces and my own stamped polymer clay piece covered with Pearl ex powder.
As a final touch I added some ribbons, lace, twine, metal charm and stamped " Created by.. me" chipboard tag on the wire
And now I needed this Wendi style flower- die cuts were inked, dot stamped , adhered and covers with 3D glossy accents for this porceline look all over and I just love the final result
And as for a challenges:
Wendi style for Simon says stamps and show

Superstitious me lo
This LO was published in September 2010 issue of SNR magazine
I think this page needs some explanations- and this is not a Halloween page anyway- this is
" about me" page
Ok- here is me that nobody knows and this is my stupid secret-me, who believes in all kinds
of " signs", bad and good.
YES- I actually believe in black cat, Friday the 13 th, broken mirrow, empty bucket, table corner sitting and evil eye. I do believe in horseshoe, shamrock, garlic ,red thread over your hand, hamsa (that's Israeli and general oriental hand shape for good luck) and blue eye against this evil one - all of them bring good luck. I know it's stupid- but can't we be a bit stupid sometime? So touch wood and everything will be great
And this page is all about it- call it my little secret or my biggest stupidity- the page looks great with this " bad" side where I added a stamped calendar page for Friday the 13 th, and painted this grungeboard cat in crackled black paint, and made the faux broken mirrow with a marker (no, I am not going to break it- it's bad luck!!) and even added some " evil eye" as a flower center and on a stamped face too- she really looks " bad" with this eye- doesn't she?
On the upper corner I added my home made Hamsa and for the more luck- 2 more- actuallyI did it as a pendant with Swarovsky crystals- but I did a dozen- for everyone I love and if you have a good eyes you even can see this smallest piece of a red thread adhered to my hand over the photo-just to give my page some good luck too.Like winning some challenges?
I also decided to make some hidden journaling tag to explain this page and the Halloween colors look great with the subject.
Some day I am going to do a whole mini album with a separate page for every single one of my stupid believes- and believe me- it's going to be a huge!! one as I take every single superstition from every nation and religion and place and make it my own.
Thanks for reading this long post- I will drop the product list here as the " story" is the point- not a cardstock .
But I will list some of my techniques:
misting around the hand cut circle, ditressing the circle cut photo, stamping and heat embossing- a face and a calendar page, hand writing, border punching, ribbon pleating, using dfferent fonts of lettering, crackled paint painting, faux stitching, tearing, inking,recycling- the wood piece and the cork are recycled, also 2 metal Hamsa pieces ar from very old key chains .
Now you all know me better- and probably laugh at me.. So what? I still have a bunch of amulets in every hand bag or purse I use, in my car and near my bed.
And some challenges too:
Use punch- for One stitch in time
Flowers for I did it creations
Metals for Paper romance
Round and metal for Belli
Petals and pearls- the big flower and a string- for Crafts and me

Create art that is not perfect
This work made Top 3 on Pocket full of posies wings challenge- thanks!!
This work made Top3 spot on Elephantastic challenges- thanks!!
This piece of art is the oddest work I ever did- I don't even know how should I call it- so if anyone has a suggestion- you are most welcome to give me it's name.. ARTBOARD? ALTERED CHIPBOARD? You name it.. So here is the concept and it works great if you are a vintage artist like me: take everything you have and know and try to incorporate it in one single 12*12'' piece and use all your scraps- bits and pieces that are mostly in some junk bucket on/ near your table
So I used this recycled 12*12'' chipboard that comes with 25 pack of papers- came actually, now they just pack the cardstock without it..Then I devided it like some kind of printers tray very freely as the distress look helps you to cover your slight mistakes. Evey portion of the board was covered with some scrap paper mostly done with some technique. I have a big piece of white ink embossed music stamping resist technique with pigment brown ink Art stamp heat embossed over the music. I randomly stamped over Prima PP, made paper scrap piecing from Webster paper and added the cut 3d.I misted b/w flocked Dcwv paper with light green mist. Another one was vintage music paper with white crackled paint around. All of the pieces were heavely distressed and inked.
For the title I used some huge foam letters inked, stamped and distressed with clear crackle paint. Then I made some acrylic fragments with maded long time ago piece of resist, inked and stamped background and inked, heat clear powder embossed and clear stickled this gorgeous Tando creative cage chipboard.
The buterfly was made form chipboard Tattered angels embossed piece, inked and stickled, home die cut and plastic butterfly- all together.
All the rest was just a collaging- adding some pearls. blings,3d glue over the bird, making a bow for the cage, adding some metal pieces, buttons, chipboards, a pin, laces, ribbons, thread..
As I said- to incorporate whatever we use and whatever technique we have- ok, not everything, but pretty much most of it.
The only popular technique I didn't ust here is masking mist- as I have all other kinds of paints, glitter glue, 3d glue, regular stamping, resist, heat embossing, paper piecing, layering, using stickers, paper misting without the mask, botder punching, riboon pleating, using home fabric die cut, using non scrappy items- the straw thread all around, playong card, and even hand writing nere the Created by.... stamp.
I think it looks interesting- also the only place this piece can be hold is my crafting room and I don't have any empty walls there- all full with products..
I also tributed here lost of cmpanies: Dcwv, webster, J. bowlin,Prima, Tando,Ranger,Unity stamps, TPS stamps, Creative imaginations stamps, Oriental trading stamps, Tim Holtz, MM, Tattered angels, Heidi Swapp and all big american craft stores too..
And finally- I know how to spell Perfect it's messed for the message- art is never perfect
I think now I am ready for my 2 7 Gipsies trays I got and never used as I was not sure what to do with them.
Thanks for reading this long post and hope you like this " no name" piece
And now for the challenges- as it has everything in- it fits lots of them

My very first on line tutorial in Ideas for scrapbookers blog
My very first tutorial in English was publushed in Ideas for scrapbookers blog here.
I just want to thank Pam for editing and making it a great post.
I did lots of tutorials , in print too, in Hebrew, but it was a kind of obsticle I needed to overcome with an English tutorial .
I was born and lived in Russia till I was 11 , so Russian was my mother tongue and still very fluent, then we moved to Israel and I needed to learn Hebrew as soon as I could, as I was already in junior high.. So my English is a kind of school and university one, mostly connected to sciences and medicine.. Now you can undestand how hard it was to jump into the water..
(OH, SPEAKING ABOUT- I CAN'T SWIM AT ALL.. )
Hope you will jump to Pam's blog and read this tutorial and all other great ideas, tips and inspirations there.

Real me lo
This LO was published in September 2010 issue of SNR magazine
This page made Top3 on Scrap it with a song challenge- thanks
Sometimes you have a idea for a page for a very long time - but you don't have a photo/ papers/sketch etc for it. So this idea to do a page " all about me" was very old one (also I did a lo about myself before- but it was with photos of my morning coffee and my damn smoking addicting.. )So this photo from our Independence day gethering with friends was just the right one for this page.
This black huge flower I did for my new tutorial on Pam's Ideas for scrapbookers blog about using chipboards was just perfect here - if you want to know how I did it please go to Pam's great blog on 8/13 and you can do it too in 5 minutes using your old and ugly chipboads
So what do I have here:
2 AC plain cardstocks, 2 Donna Salazar pp cut to stpips, Prima lace, SU and BG ribbons, some Petalloo flowers, some Bazzill white die cuts,AC Thickers , some MM and Prima blings, MM sticker letters , all kind of left over alphas and MM buttons.
As for the techniques:
I used MS flower ribbon punch, hand cut the circles, did some paper piercing, some inking and edge distressing, hand made from old book page flower, stickling and the chipboard flower was done with UTEE, glitter, 3d glue and heat embossing
I also glitteed this Tando creative corner chipboard that fits the empty corner just perfectly.
The journaling says:
I LIVE IN BLACK AND WHITE
BUT I DREAM IN COLOR
And now for all other challenges- can it we without them?
Flourish for Everyday scrapper
Monochromatic for Paper jewels
Ribbon for Paper pretties-
Buttons and bows for Crafty catz--

Morocco 2010- It's amazing here lo
This LO was published in September 2010 issue of SNR magazine
I am not really sure what I was thinking when I did this page- so " not me " page
3 month ago we went to this great vacation to Morocco and I never scrapped a single photo from this trip- I have about 200 good ones , even of not photogenic me.. So first of all I decided to do some " introduction pages"- just to show the beauty of the land.. And here begins this
" not Irit lo": I used a paper kit.. Marrakesh BG kit was made for this case- and is not my cup of tea.. or coffee... or juce... Too busy, too BG(yes, they have great paper that I can't work with. Period.)Then I decided to do multi photo page and it's not me at all- I can scrap up to 4 photos on a single page lo , but then I crop them to small circles or whatever.. But to crop these ones means to crop the nature and to left us.. Who will know where these photos were taken after this cropping? So I left them pretty big .. And now after all of this I didn't have space for my real love- embellishments..
Wow- to many things around were messed with this page- but I'l keep it anyway
And again- no more page kits.. I just couldn't use these stickers- but some borders only, they are too flat for my taste.. I don't like the letters too- so I added some stickles all over- they are too flat too.
At least I added some real Moroccan shoe and tassel and a great Prima flower with some Prima buttons and some ribbons as borders- to break this anemic kit.. And again- sorry all BG lovers-this are not you, that's me - a strange bird who doesn't fit this company paper.
I still have 16 pieces of paper- so I will probably use the rest of the kit too and will complain again. BE READY!!
Good luck (student/ teacher) card
This card was published in September 2010 issue of SNR magazine
I just had less than an hour before work today- so I decided to craft this very quick card for some web challenges and for some teacher or student.. Don't really know any.. My DD are 3 rd year college students ... Don't have any working teacher friend(some are retired after long years of teaching.. ) But it's realy cute- so I'll keep it after all. It was done with AC black and cream cardstock, cream one was stamped with brown ink and woodgrain pattern stamp and sut as a frame. I used some non used AC thickers and a bunch of Dress it up buttons-
I just love this school bag - even bought 2!!
The sentiment was done with MM small stickers and I spent 3/4 of this hour to fit the alphas around the buttons- so next similar card can be done for 30 minutes mostly
Here I did clean and simple card- not so clean after all- but very simple one - made as a school black board
And as always- here are the challenges this one was done for:
Primary colors
Cleand and simple for Meljen desighns

Like an old vine lo
This LO was published in September 2010 issue of SNR magazine
This page is a " redone" lo- I did some page with this cut to 3 photo and with some of bellies- but I didn't like it at all - so I decided to do it again- and now I am very pleased with the result
and as it is for my DH - he is like an old vine- better and better - I am glad that I did it again
I did it mainly for Tando creative DT using there wonderful grape leaves- I colored them with Marvy markers, added some pen for vines and covered with 3d clear glue
The products I used here are DCWV purple cardstock, Dream street paper patterned cardtock, some pealed green and butter paper, very old Provo craft rub- ons, AC ribbon, Tim Holtz metal parts, Spellbinders vine label and 2 alphas- October afternoon chopboards and MM cork.
As for techniques:
MS border punch and butterfly punch, embossing, coloring, rub ons on the photo and 3d cut all over the page, pleating the ribbon, stamping on acetate with Stazon ink, distressing and inking the edges, faux white pen stitching and finally dooing some grapes using 3d glue directly on the paper and vintage purple beads and anothe grapes using distress stickles
And noe for some other web challenge:
Sketch- just moved it to other side- for Creative craft world
Acetate- the clock- for Creative cottage
Purple and green for Crafts and me
REDO the page for Yellow umbrella- and here is an old page link
Purples, sparcles and texture for Just inspirational
Deep blue Red (sea) lo
This LO was published in September 2010 issue of SNR magazine
This page won a paint challenge on Belli blog- thanks
This new page was done for my Tando creative DT and with a prespective for SNR call for using hardware items on your page.
So for Tando I used this anchor chipboard painted with white Ranger crackled paint and spotted with old tooth brush technique acrylics- just like water splats all over the page
For SNR I used all the following items:
laundry rope, ball chain, green electric wire, cork, blue industria tape, sand paper, metal copper tape, piece of metal gentle mesh, copper wire
This is a page with our own Israeli Red sea fish and corals- my DD is a diver- so I have lots of great underwater photos.
I used one Bazzill cardstock and a very old Daisy D's pp and then did this homemade life
buoy- I hope this is the name of it as in Hebrew we call it "lifeguard weel"- from old reused back of some paper pad, hand cut with 2 kitchen plates, inked with some distress inks and I added this blue tape and a rope for the real look.
I also did some sea weeds from green wire, stamped some clouds with Paper studio stamps, added some sand from teared sand paper, and some water splats with 3d clear glue
And as always- I don't have any new alpha sets- so I used 4!!- Pink paislee, MM. AC and Dovecrafts- this one ws a Rak and a new one
The plastic shells are from Dress it ups and the I also added one old Ek sticker
And it's good for some other web challenges too:
Use a tape- I used blue indaustial and copper metal tapes here for Scrap your crap
Summer for Crafty Ann
Paint forBelli challenge
Summer vacation for Cuttlebug blog
Wild and wet- paints etc- for Scrapfit
By the sea for Totally papercrafts
