Family fun- NY 2008 LO

This page will be published on September 2010 issue of Scrapstreet magazine
This lo won a sketch challenge on Crafty little place - thanks
Today is our SHAVOUT holliday again- so I have 2 more days for doing nothing but crafting as in our family this one is not so important. One of my girls is working for these 2 days, the second one is out for 4 days vacation(even missed some college classes for it), one of my sons is back to Spain where he works and the second one has army duties. So no family meal or family gathering- but a family lo.
These photos are a about 2 years old , taken on our USA vacation (3 of 4 of my kids, my new DIL and myself. 2 of my men decided that NY is boring(??????!!!!)
I decided to use Claudia's sketch as I was very glad to find that old Die cut r us challenges are in the new Crafty little place and have this lo challenges- not only cute cards ones. Than I found this great color inspiration on Candy shoppe challenge blog .They have this cutest candy ever from Magpie club sponsoring this challenge- wow- I wish I win!!
And I used a great poem on Scrap the poetry blog I used for journaling.
The basic cardstock is from MME, than I used Teressa Collins transparency,
some SU stash I got as a great Rak for winning on Curtain call blog (thanks Staicey- I love it all!!), I added some Websters ribbon, 4 sets of Alphas were used here as no set was full (I also painted some huge letters to fit the colors of this page and glittered it) and I added one homemade and misted flower with old vintage button on.
As for techniques I stamped and hand cut images, painted , glittered and stamp on chipboard letters , pleated the ribbon, did handwriting journaling and stamped directly on the cardstock.
The last touch was this adorable metal flower pin I got as a part of my winning on Get sketchy challenge blog- thanks!!
And as for other challenges:
Mission create- vintage (button), distressing, decorative borders paper
Scrap page- for Little paper shop
Round and round- for Getting creative with ANN
Not my comfort zone- doing the sketch " as is"- 3 photos etc- for Start me up
Scrap the poetry- I used the line " You are all that I can call my own..." for journaling
Using ABC sets for Scrap you crap (I used 4 sets, cut the "m" for " n", painred part of them to fit my title
Great outdoors for Crafty calendar
Use paint- for my letters- for Scrap outside the box
5 buttons- 4 regular, 1 silver blue vintage- for Craft your passion
Colors for Candy shoppe
Pick 3 for Butterfly crafts- yellow, glitter, buttons, inking too
Round and round for Totally gorjuss
Sweet stampers asked for family dedication as my page is
Hand made flower for Quixotic
Favorite color combo and glitter - these pink- blue one I love it and use a lot , the glitter was added on the NY letters- for Tuesday morning sketches
Patterened paper for Practical scrappers
Recycling - the flower is made of an old Hebrew book- for Character cafe
Cut it out for Pixie dust

Great layout! I am surprised that 2 of the men thought NYC was boring! I was there a few years ago and we had fun (even though it rained a lot!). Thanks for playing along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Irit,
I can see why your layout won a challenge. I especially love the circles with additional photos in them. There's so many interesting things on the page to keep your eye moving, but they never detract at all from the photos themselves. A really beautiful page!
Thanks so much for playing along with the Paper Players for the June guest designer spot.
