I did this memo notes holder for my DH - he always claims he can't find a piece of paper for his notes (no paper in my house? He should use all these designer ones I have... )
So this one was done with Unscripted sketches #48 sketch, using a recycled piece of thick chcipboard, recyckking this butterflies gift card, using Karen Foster memo notes I got during last summer CHA , with Prima spring pp, flowers and blings .
And for this week the web is full of spring challenges- so this springy item is good for all of them

Vintage altered tea box

This box was a winner on Get sketchy sketch challenge- thanks!!
This box made Top 3 at Die cuts r us challenge- thanks!!
This box made Top 3 at Stamp insanity challenge- thanks!!
Today I decided to alter an old wood tea box as a part of my Passover present for my mom (Dad gets the lo with my sister) and both of them will get something from the new Ikea shop that was opened just near us..
So I was in my almoust usual vintage mood and this is a real 19 century (not sure- but seams like it ) box that my mom can use for her jewelry too.
I used some handmade paper that I colored with a pearl paint, some flocked Prima paper, lots of distressing and inking, 2 die cut circles, stamping with Unity stamp and heat embossing this " love out loud " quote and then just added lots of flowers, buttons, lace, ribbon, blings etc to give it this vintage look
And it was done for some web challenges too- also they are mostly springy, but I digged some that are great for this box

Real life lo

Sometimes I really am glad to do " without people" pages- just to scrap the beauty of the nature. So when I saw this " non people" lo on Pamela's world I decided that I need to do this lo and to use all these spring colors for other web challenges as well as all my " bits and scraps" and some of non scrappy items too- like my own made polymer clay stones, some wood, some old vellum music paper I got from a scrappy friend.
So here it is- very old Daisy D's paper , stamped ticket, bingo card, homemade tree with buttons, some not so old Bg paper, tearing, inking, painting a chipboard ...
This is a real life of a nature- water..
And now for the challenges:

Not a card for Pals paper arts
Not a card for Creative inspirations
Transparency ( over my photo) for Frosted designs

Wild nature lo

The problem with me is that I do several albums all together: my son's wedding album (so I gave it to him and my DDL- so what? I still have hundreds of pictures to scrap), my DH and DS Amir S. America long trip, my twins 2 years out of Israel, my DP old photos, my own old photos too and in between some nature, family meetings,my sis and her family , my kids young years etc. So I decided to try these multi photos sketches and to fix minimum of 3 photos in each one
This one a kind of grid that went well with these " wild" men photos of not so wild nature
And as always this masculine pages are hard for me- no flowers, swirls, blings and all these cute things I love?
Here I used mostly techniques- acrylic paint matting, misting the chipboard tree, punching my own journaling note, using some old fabric I got from some furniture workshop, some kitchen twine and 2 pp- Prima and Sassafras one.
And as for other challenges- lots of green one are on the web now..

Love grows - altered cross stitched frame

I decided to do some non 12*12 lo- really a try, as I always scrap 12*12.
So this plastic circle frame for doing cross stitch was in my stash (me- cross stitch? 20 years ago maybe...) and this old curtain leftovers(yards and yards of it ) were perfect for this one- you can call anything but paper craft- also I used a bit of paper and acetate on it too.
You can see the backside picture of this one too to understand it better and it is for wall hanging, not for the album item.I also left the lace " as is"- I think it is more interesting this way, also it can be cut in a second around the frame
I did it for Artastic march challenge prompt and for some other web challenges

2004 LO

This lo was published in SNR April 2010 issue

This lo was one of TOP 3 on Prairie fairy use tissue challenge- thanks!!

Scrapbooking today is kind of trends or fashions more than it was a decade ago (also I am a scrapper much less)- so we need to go with these trends and this lo was made with some of them
Trend #1- recycling: I used this 1/2 old plate placement my DH decided to add to the garbage ..I even took a part to the front too. I also used this bread brown bag with celophane window on it " as is" for my mattingp also I do use deacidation
Trend #2- make your own flowers- I did great one from old tissue paper- free hand cut of scalloped circles in 3 sizes and a brad(It's kind of another trend- to use eyelets and brads we bought and never use)
Trend #3- recession is still here -so we try to find some cheap items- the paper flowers I used here were half of home Israeli store pack and their cost is half of 2.5 $ as I still have half of them for another work- so it is really cheap also it's not Prima(we are talking 1.25 USA $ for all these flowers on this lo)

They were separate- but I did the branch by myself
Trend #4- use ruffles.. As I hate to sew I just used this orange sticky tape and did them in a second from Michaels ribbon (see trend#3) (Don't really like ruffles- but we are talking about trends here, not my taste in clothing)
Trend #5-use twine- yarn etc- kind of recycling too- I got this one with this huge yarn ball with small presents inside and it never ends.
Trend#6- silluettes- I don't like it , but when the photo is great and the background is awful it works - and it's a kind of retro ..
The other trends are blings(I used them to cover the red color of Pink Pasley paper as I didn't want this red to be seen) I also added some to cover some pen signs as I tried to doodle in the corner and didn't like it after all.
Another trendy item is fabric- so this one was genuine Prima tag , but you can use the old skirt pocket too.
And finaly the last- use your scraps even if these were real leftovers. The circle I used for the fabric tag was Colluzzle " mis-cut"- but I kept it and here it is- great color combo for my new lo
And now for the challenges:
Brown bag for Scrap outside the box

Wings for Magical crafts (birds)

Colors for ECP

Inspiration for Etsy- wood ( the placement ) and all my blings
Inspiration - from 3 mini key blings for Paper jewels

Tissue paper flower for Prairie fairy- not sure about lo and not a card- but what can it be? It is a great tissue flower after all

Baby vintage card

This card was published in Feb 2011 issue of SNR magazine

Being in this " baby card" mood I did one pure vintage card - but baby themed
I used this very new Donna Salazar Paintable paper, cut a card from it, added some 3D glaze on a rose, inked with 3-4 kinds of distressed inks. Then I did a part with crackled glass technique and reinked it with brown ink and made a glass look over digi print of the baby. The hand made flower eas die cut with Spellbinders from old book and inked all around, heavy distress look was made all over the card

Chinese card

This card was done for Unscripted sketches # 45 sketch and I really loved this one a lot!! It also was done as my GDT job for " GO GREEN"(recycling) on RAISE THE BAR where I was choosen as a Guest bartender
This sketch is very versatile and you can do it with 3 folds too- but I did this doing pure
recycling as after I visited China I got lots of oriental items - envelopes, prospects etc.
So I added some heat embossing on this Chinese new year envelope and left it open on the upper side- for cash/ check or gits card to be inside.
The yellow side was cut and border punched from some museum plan, the tassel was from some gift box and the thread from some old packaging too
and I added some blings, brads,a flower and white pen stitching.
It is also great for some web challenges :
3 colors of 80-s - for Memory lane crop day 3 challenge
Sew simple for One stop craft
Recycled- for Spoon full of sugar

Going green- my point of view

This card made TOP 5 on Clearly inspired " going green" challenge- thanks!!
This week the web is full of these" green" challenges- but they all are for St.Patrick's day. Also I do believe in every " lucky" thing in the Universe (a post about it will be done some time )- we don't celebrate this day here in Israel.
But being this " green" kind of person in my crafting (I wish I would be more green all all this plastic and paper recycling and not only with crafting)-
I did this recycled cork coaster and used more recycles items here too:
the cardboard from packaging, twine, my own homemade recycled paper and recycled charm from old kids chain.
So here it is - digi print arrows paperpiecing, inking, distressing , stamping and clear powder heat embossing, and just for the final touch- a brad, some flowers and a bit of felt ribbon.
As for use- it can be just a reminder on the wall- but we can use it for notes too if we want..
And now for the challenges- lots of green one (also as I said my green is kind of unscripted green)
Charms for Creative inspirations
Cream and green- for Stamping challenges

Dad's li'l sun lo- PRESENT FOR MY MOM

This was published in Scrapstreet June 2010 issue and will be back in my blog at 7/1

I did this lo for my mom- using this vintage photo of my dad and my baby sis about 40 years ago. She was and is my Dad's sunshine and they both mean a lot for my mom- so this one is going to be framed and will be a part of my Passover gift for her.

I did some techniques here: hand cut the Webster pages pp, misting, stamping, heat embossing, hand writing and than I just used lots of embells with meaning: the heart card for love, angel - for being both of them my angels,

F coin for Forevermore, yellow heart button for love and missing and my sister lives in USA, vintage chipboard buttons for old days, 2 cute red bugs look on to other just as my Dad and sis on the photo etc. Everything here has some meaning- nothing is just for " looks good"

And I did it for some recent challenges too:

My newest publication in Scrapbooking news and review February (delayed) issue

The February issue of Scrapbooking news and review was a bit delayed due some family reasons ans it's on web now and I have 3 of my los published there.
2 of them were here in my blog and will be back in 30 days time -
"Addicted to shopping" and " I hope for more time with you"
The 3 rd one is very new and called " 4 of 6 cousins" and was not yet posted- so it will be here in Apryl only. I know that this web magazine is paid one- but it's great and only costs only about 5$ for month - so if you have a subscription you can see my work on " Current calls " sections of Faith, Playfull and fun and Circles.
And if you don't have a subscription- you can do it for very little $$$ as I did- also I get the free issue with any publicaton- but still it's my small support for this magazine.
And for little summary: my first out of Israel publication was in Dec. 2009.
Since than I had 17 los and 2 cards published and I have 6 more los to be published in April . Not bad for unknown Israeli scrapper. Really not bad.
