Past is a key to the future art frame
This work made Top 5 at Cupcake inspiration blog- thanks!!
Lately I am deeply in this grunge/ vintage mood- maybe it's because I did some craft room cleaning and found all these bits an pieces that can be perfect for Tim Holtz style artwork..
This so called frame was one of them: it's a chipboard A4 size advertising dispaly frame with clear acetate cover and here is the final result of it..
The chipboard inner frame was white ink stamped, clear powder heat embossed, inked with lots of distress inks (dont' ask me for the colors- I just mixed and matched all over and wiped and added and wiped.. Then I stamped more and more of Tim's stamps all over and finally decided to stop.. Now for the acetate cover: tags were done from heavy weight cardstock and I painted one with white acrylic and di it my own way (not sure it's not anywhere on the web- but I didn't try to find some technoques- I just mad my own experiment and used sea sand, pearl ex powder and inks- will do a tutorial some day about it ..) The second tage was made resist + inking regular way. The blue chipboard cover was a mistake that finally became my new techinique too.. It was dsitress stickles on the chipboard(not so great look), that I added some darker ink all over (still not a gret look) and then- 3d glue- and it became a real epoxy vintage look.
The grungeboard letters were edge inked and clear crackle painted. The grungeboard piece on the upper corner and a key were painted with gold crackled paint and silver stickled all over.
All vintage bits and pieces were added to the tags and the final result is some kind of statement for vintage artists: keep the past as it's a key to the future- it gives us knowledge of what we need to do to make our future brighter.I added a bottle with some message too- for the future
And as you can see it's pure Tim piece with a touch of vintage findings from my own T &T BOX
